Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced on April 20 that certain businesses could start reopening on Friday, April 24, but Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is at odds with his choice.
Bottoms says she is “at a loss” and believes that opening the Atlanta back up too soon is putting the city in a place of possible harm.
Though Bottoms has a “great working relationship” with Kemp, his decision is a bit concerning.
"What I know is that when I look at the data that we receive from our public health department each day, our numbers are going up," she said, via WGXA TV.
Bottoms didn’t have a chance to speak with Kemp before the announcement was made,
"We really are at a loss, and I am concerned as a mother and as the mayor of our capital city," she said.
